The Home Furnishings Manufacturing Expo debuts June 7-8

On June 7-8 the Home Furnishings Manufacturing Solutions Expo (HFMSE) will make its debut at the Georgia World Congress Center in Hall A1.

Rising labor costs in China and Vietnam, global shipping challenges and improvements in machinery and automation have changed the economics of importing. U.S. manufacturers are backing away from off-shoring as the advantages of on-shoring become clear. HFMSE was created to address these trends and to build an opportunity for the industry.

A new kind of U.S. trade show

The expo, launched by Progressive Business Media (PBM) and Exposition Development Company (EDC), will be the only trade show of its kind in the U.S. serving the $150 billion home furnishings industry.

It will provide attendees with innovative and timely solutions for their home furnishings business including manufacturing equipment and innovative machinery, warehousing, technology, financial and logistics services.

While there are machinery shows in countries like Japan, Germany and China, there are currently no shows of this kind in the U.S. Typically, a manufacturing head or a CEO goes to machinery shows, but HFMSE wanted to make it available to everyone. The expo aims to allow more people, both in terms of company size and within individual companies, to attend and see the equipment in action.

Unlike other trade shows in the industry, HFMSE includes equipment demonstrations. Many people hear about the equipment but don’t get to drive it, test it and feel it. This expo will provide a place where they can do all of that.

Educational opportunities

Thanks to the American Home Furnishings Alliance (AFHA), education will serve as a large part of expo. The AHFA are experts on regulatory and compliance issues in the home furnishings industry and they are the only business association the industry has for manufacturers.

AHFA has designed the education specifically for the home furnishings industry and will provide exclusive knowledge and information that’s unavailable at other trade shows.

The education program is made up of nine different educational seminars. Each seminar, included with an exhibit hall badge, will be one hour in length and consist of 45-minute presentations followed by 15 minutes for a Q&A session. The schedule will also allow for ample time following each seminar for additional networking with attendees and speakers.

The seminars will cover a broad spectrum of issues, including how things will change under the Trump administration, what to anticipate with the “Made in America” focus, and how to lead and manage Millennials. A big goal of the seminars is to help grow the home furnishings workforce through education.

Exhibitors and Exhibitor presentations

A large number of exhibitors will exhibit across diverse product categories including fabrics, computer software/information technology, wood process machinery and more. It was important to bring in as many categories as possible to offer maximum benefits to attendees.

Thirteen exhibitor presentations will also be held throughout the expo. These presentations are included in your exhibit hall badge and will cover a wide range of topics, from solving warranty concerns to color and design trends in wood finishing. This is a unique opportunity to join exhibitors in a classroom style setting as they present their newest products and solutions.

The industry has been asking for a show like this, and the call has been answered. If you’re in the industry, don’t miss the opportunity to experience something fresh, informative and unique.
