Global Furniture USA moves to High Point's Furniture Plaza

Will triple space with 25,000-square-foot showroom

HIGH POINT — Case goods and upholstery resource Global Furniture USA is moving to a 25,000-square-foot space in Furniture Plaza for the upcoming High Point Market.

The company is moving from an 8,000-square-foot space it had leased at 118 W. Commerce Ave. for the past six years.

The new space, Furniture Plaza 615, will allow the company to showcase 40% to 50% of its new and existing line of products, which includes contemporary bedroom, dining room, entertainment, leather, motion and occasional furniture, said Alex Vaysman, president.

"As far as the location, it is in a prime area where current buyers are already shopping the building," Vaysman said. "We felt it would be a great fit.... As we grew as a company and expanded our product line, we outgrew our showroom."

Among Global's planned introductions this market are 40 upholstery groups and 14 bedrooms in a new division called Main Street by Global. The division will showcase mainstream transitional designs that aim to attract today's consumers, the company said.

In a related move, leather upholstery resource Marks & Cohen Home Furnishings is moving down one floor in Furniture Plaza, to spaces 500-505.
