Furniture stores lose ground, other channels hold steady

Bedding Distribution Report
Bedding specialty stores remain on the ascent, while furniture stores have lost a little ground in the battle for bedding market share.
And the other channels of distribution - including department stores and warehouse clubs, among others - are holding steady.
Those are the highlights of Furniture/Today's latest examination of bedding distribution channels, a project the newspaper undertakes every two years. The new report documents where the channels stood at the end of last year.
Furniture/Today's exclusive 2011 Bedding Distribution Report reveals 2010 bedding market share through seven distribution channels. Figures are based on 2010 retail sales of conventional mattresses and boxsprings, as well as foam bedding, futons, airbeds, adjustable beds and waterbeds.
