ATLANTA - AmericasMart has promoted Kevin Malkiewicz to vice president of area rug leasing and sales, responsible for all area rug category management.
Malkiewicz most recently was executive director of area rug leasing, trade shows and buyer relations. He joined the market center in 1999 as area rug buyer relations manager.
In his new position, he will direct the leasing of the 350,000-square-foot AmericasMart area rug center, located on floors three through six in Building One, and will help lead sales for the National Oriental Rug Show.

ST. LOUIS - Weekends Only Furniture Outlet is making personnel changes in its human resources team.
Karen Laffleur, manager of HR services for the five-store Top 100 company, is retiring after nearly 12 years with the retailer.
Kara Wagner, senior HR generalist, will assume the new position of HR business partner, responsible for collaborating with the district manager, general managers and corporate department managers to meet the talent needs of each unit.

Jared VonOehsen, talent acquisition supervisor, will become HR services supervisor. In the expanded role, he will continue to manage recruiting as well as oversee the team providing HR services to employees.

Cort
FAIRFAX, VA. - National furniture rental provider Cort has promoted three executives to new sales roles.
Jennifer Robbins has been named regional sales manager in Houston. She will lead three business segments

and sales teams focused on building relationships with customers, according to Cort, a Berkshire Hathaway company.
Robbins has worked at Cort for 10 years, most recently as assistant district general manager. Since joining Cort, she has contributed to projects such as coordinating the supply of furniture and other necessities during the recoveries from Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Ike. Robbins also helped lead the Houston district's transition following Cort's acquisition of Aaron's Corporate Furnishings Division in 2008.
"I'm excited to continue growing my role at Cort with this promotion," Robbins said. "Serving our national accounts in Houston by providing furniture and destination services is very rewarding."
Cort also has hired Brian Franks as territory sales manager in Houston.
He will aim to increase Cort's market presence and sales with commercial and residential customers in Houston in market segments including businesses, student housing, universities, property management, corporate housing and real estate, according to the company.
Prior to joining Cort, Franks worked as Houston territory sales manager at Best Buy for Business.
Cort also has promoted Pete Regules to national manager of multi-family housing products and services, leading the furniture rental company's national efforts in the property management industry.
Regules has worked at Cort for 25 years, most recently as supervising general manager of northern and central Florida, responsible for expanding the company's destination services in the region.
Vision Fabrics USA
INDIANAPOLIS - Textile converter Vision Fabrics USA, which debuted in December, has hired Ron Heinz to cover the U.S. Midwest region.
Heinz will be responsible for the development of the Vision product line in the upholstered furniture, jobbing and retail market segments. He is a 30-year veteran of the textile industry.
"Ron is a great addition to our team of sales professionals," said Tom Carter, national market manager. "His experience, innovative approach to the market and proven track record makes him an ideal fit for the culture of our company."
Vision Fabrics USA is a division of J. Ennis Fabrics and serves the home furnishings, contract, hospitality and outdoor market industries.

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. - Nouris on has named David John Appelt regional sales manager for the Southeast territory, covering North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas.
He will be responsible for managing and developing business within the region and supervising a team of in-house account executives throughout the Southeast territories.
Appelt will promote Nourison's rug, broadloom and runner lines, the Mina Victory decorative accessories line, and the company's Nourtex brand of more moderately priced decorative broadloom and runners.
Appelt has more than 30 years of flooring sales and sales management experience, most recently as regional sales manager for Shaw Inds.' Shaw Living/Shaw Rugs division.
