EASTON, Md. — Interior design and home furnishings franchise company Decorating Den Interiors has named interior decorator Katie Rioux as Decorator of the Year.

The Dream Room Awards contest, judged by U.S. and Canadian design journalists, received more than 300 entries in 11 categories. Rioux’s family room makeover submission earned her the title, and she also won second place in the living room category and third place in the dining room and kitchen categories.

Rioux, of Alberta, Canada, was first runner-up last year and the previous year was second runner-up. She received her award at the company’s 48th annual conference and supplier market earlier this month in St. Louis. The company will also honor Rioux with a trip to New York City.

First runner-up was Jenifer Manley, Haslet, Texas, kitchen; and second runner-up was Lisa Landry, Arlington, Texas, commercial.
