HIGH POINT — High-end resource Marge Carson has purchased the Hamilton Place showroom building here, where the company has had its showroom for the past several years.
CEO Jim LaBarge said the company will continue to occupy 29,000 square feet of the 50,000-square-foot building, and will attempt to lease the remainder as showroom space.
"We've been looking for a permanent location for our showroom and when the opportunity to acquire our present location at an advantageous price came about, it fit perfectly into our strategic plan," said LaBarge. "We are very committed to the High Point Market and specifically to the Hamilton Wrenn design district."
The building is at 117-121 N. Hamilton St.
The company didn't disclose the purchase price or the name of the previous owner.
LaBarge said he plans to make improvements to the building's exterior and install a new roof and air conditioning system prior to the April 2012 market.
