BRENHAM, Texas — Hermann Furniture, the oldest family-owned and operated furniture store in Texas, will mark its 135th anniversary with a nearly weeklong celebration in November.
The celebration kicks off Nov. 15 with a ribbon cutting that will include state and city officials and company representatives at the Hermann Furniture building in downtown Brenham. Throughout the week until Nov. 19, Hermann will offer special promotions and daily giveaways along with wine and cheese.
"It's a great honor to be recognized as the oldest family-owned and operated furniture store in Texas," said Jennifer Hermann, owner of Hermann Furniture. "For 135 years, we've been helping our customers to find the inspiration to turn their homes into truly special places. A lot has changed over the years, but the extraordinary shopping experience we provide our customers hasn't."
Herman Furniture is composed of five shops that specialize in products including home furnishings, accessories, antiques, gifts, edible treats and crafts.
