M Design Village acquires BK Home Furniture
July 11, 2017,
HIGH POINT – Nursery furniture specialist M Design Village, LLC has acquired case goods importer BK Home as part of a strategy to expand the crib manufacturer's presence in adult and youth bedroom and dining room furniture.
The company, which is run by nursery industry veteran Munir Hussain, closed the deal to purchase BK Home July 5. While officials did not reveal a purchase price, the acquisition does include the intellectual property of BK Home, including its product designs.
In a statement, Hussain said that the company looks forward to its launch of bedroom, dining and youth furniture and plans to show 12 newly designed furniture groups at the October High Point Market.
“This is a very exciting time in our growth, and we plan to bring not only innovative product but also new ideas in merchandising to reach today’s changing consumer,” he said. “We are excited to take advantage of our solid manufacturing relationships which will facilitate exciting new product at strong values.”
Kemp said he is excited about the new partnership with Hussain.
“This will allow us to tap into each other’s strengths to produce a better product at very competitive prices.” Kemp said. “Going forward, we will use this new affiliation to produce furniture under the BK Home Furniture brand name taking advantage of new value opportunities created by joining M Design Village.”
