Kennedy named COO at Kane's

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — Industry veteran Dan Kennedy has joined Kane’s Furniture here as chief operating officer, a new position.

Kennedy joined the 18-store Top 100 company, bringing more than 30 years of industry experience, most recently as vice president of marketing and sales at Flexsteel Industries, where he developed product to increase sales growth by $15 million in his first year, according to a release.

He began his career as a sales manager at Highland Home Furnishings and went on to become president of Selling Retail International, Kloss Furniture and Dulles, Va.-based Belfort Furniture, another Top 100 company.

“Dan’s experience and knowledge in the furniture business will serve as an important asset to Kane’s Furniture,” President and CEO Irwin Novack said. “We are pleased to have him join the Kane’s team and look forward to using his expertise to grow the company further.”

Kane’s is No. 43 on Furniture Today’s Top 100 with estimated furniture, bedding and accessory sales of $208 million.
