This promotional upholstery company will introduce both leather and fabric, with the casual contemporary 6400 sofa and loveseat done in a velvet cord with welted box seams, rolled arms and dramatic accent pillows; $399 sofa, $699 sofa and loveseat.

ANGELO: HOME

Celebrity designer Angelo Surmelis is filling a style void with new contemporary sofas, loveseats, chairs and ottomans along with updated traditional. Fabrics include twills, exaggerated paisley, florals and birds and details include casters and turned and plain legs.

BERNHARDT

The company will make upholstery introductions in three collections, including: Grand Casual, which has eight sofa groups and five freestanding chairs that blend traditional and modern elements and a fabric story using texture, soft tones and accents of color; New Classics, which includes six sofa groups and four freestanding chairs/chaises with dramatic statements through the use of color, shape and fabrics; Interiors will add six sofa groups and five freestanding chairs in bolder patterns, new shapes and an increasing number of frames available in leather. Interiors also uses more color, and includes new exposed wood pieces with stainless steel throughout the introductions. The cover story includes cut velvets, silks and rich red leathers.

Company will offer a modular sectional collection with microfiber covers available in curry, turquoise, platinum, fuchsia, citron and garnet, with an armless wood base swivel in a variety of covers and an arm chair in microfiber Shaman fabric mink.

BRAXTON CULLER

The company has partnered with celebrity designer and author Libby Langdon for an upscale, 15-piece collection with crisply defined lines, taller exposed wood legs and standard down-wrapped foam cushions. Also, the company will fill a void in its upholstery line with a curved conversation sofa.

BROYHILL

Broyhill is going heavy on bonded leather this market with 16 pieces, and also will have a strong showing in sectionals that includes Tribeca, with a cream body cloth with accent pillows with hot tangerine and floral print with tangerine flowers. In addition, the company will offer a collection called Weekends in casual fabrics that include twills, ticking, stripes and denim. In all, there will be 67 new frames on the showroom floor.

CARACOLE

This design-oriented portfolio will have a European flavor with Belgian, Scandinavian, Italian and French inspired designs. The Belgian-influenced sofas will be in linen in two sizes, 86 inches and 102 inches. Sculptural motifs will frame the Scandinavian modern intros. An exposed wood frame with fretwork detailing influenced by French designer Paul Follot has been update, and the color palette features crisp greens, soft lavenders and mellow golds. Caracole covers all product categories - upholstery, case goods, occasional and accent pieces in multiple price points.
The new Caracole Light collection, a portfolio created for consumers who believe less is more, will start off with Modern Farmhouse, with five accent chairs, two sofas, an 82-inch cut back shelter sofa with exposed wood and nail trim and a modern English arm sofa, with contrasting flange welt. The collection also includes 20 occasional pieces made with fast-growing fir and New Zealand pine. Produced in North Carolina, the collection offers 13 fabric choices and ships in four to six weeks.

This Midwest manufacturer will bring traditional-styled upholstery to market, including one group (sofa, loveseat, chair and ottoman) with a reverse camel back and saddle arm, sofa, $999; one hand-tufted three-over-three group with bowed, pear-shaped back springs creating extra lumbar support, $1,199; and a three-piece traditional sectional, $2,499.

CISCO

The Los Angeles-based company has formed new manufacturing alliances in India and China, and will offer lower price point items and price promotions on selected items during market. Introductions include the modern style Melo sofa in linen, $3,400; the Elizabeth chair in linen with slipcover design, $1,195; the Aldo sofa in linen, slipcover with contrasting welt, $4,730; the Renata sectional in linen with contrasting welt, $5,800; and the Keko ottoman in linen in contemporary to traditional styling with tufted top and nail head detailing, $595. All frames use FSC-certified hardwoods.

CRAFTMASTER

Craftmaster will emphasize casual styling, along with more stripes and collages in an assortment of new products displayed in the company's redesigned showroom. Particularly striking are new entries in the Better Homes and Gardens brand. The company also is expanding its Comfort Soft category with sofas offering casual soft seating. And for buyers looking for goods to promote, several sofas will be offered to sell at $599 retail.

Upholstery intros include a round chair with wooden base (dusk finish) in the Contemporain collection with vertical pleats, box edge seat cushion, $5,500; and the Contemporain-Haremlique sofa in Modern Ottoman style with titanium finish feet, vertical pleated back and base, $14,100. Both pieces are in Dorya fabrics.

The company is adding new pieces to its licensed cobistyle collection by the former editor of Canadian House & Home magazine, Cobi Ladner, that includes two accent chairs ($749 and $859) and a sofa, $1,389.

ENGLAND

England will launch a design-oriented collection this market that will include two sectionals, a settee and seven frames that include contrasting welt, nickel nail heads, oval ottomans in contrasting fabrics with pieces that can be mixed or matched. The collection will be on the upper end of England's pricing structure.

FLEXSTEEL

Company will launch its custom order That's My Style by Flexsteel program that offers 176 tailoring options. Among the options are four arm styles, two back cushions, three nail heads, welt or French seam, and five base/skirt choices. The program will be available as a sofa, loveseat, chair, ottoman and many sectional pieces. Also available will be a choice of the company's lifetime plush cushion or an upgraded feather blend cushion, plus seven wood finishes options on the three legs available. There also is a contrast welt option, multiple pillows with fringe and braid options and over 1,500 fabrics.

The Gabby tailored sofa and chair collection debuts at market in transitional style with an old Hollywood feel, in 20 fabric options. Upholstery will be a modern complement to Gabby's 50-plus eclectic furniture pieces and accessories that will be introduced.

The company is expanding its Domaine and Next Generations offerings with new product and fabrics, with silhouettes that marry beautifully to the new Classic Cherry case goods. Intros include the 8600 Domaine sofa in a classically modern interpretation of traditional tuxedo profile, with crisply tailed inside arm, waterfall skirt and box seat and cushion; and the 8400 Domaine chair with matching ottoman that features a gently inclined track arm and dramatic S-curve of the back post and waterfall skirt.

The company's new Platinum collection includes Maggie, a contemporary wide track arm sofa with adjustable back rest, in leather and fabric, and Travis, with a sleek, low profile, wide track arms, decorative flat-thread stitching with pocket coil seat cushions and high density foam, available in fabric and leather. Also new is a smaller scale contemporary chair with pocket coil seat construction, available in fabric and leather.

KLAUSSNER

Will introduce a variety of stationary upholstery, including the Bonlee, a transitional/contemporary with knife-edged back cushions wrapped in welt, seat cushions that are bordered and welted, and slightly flared arms; the traditional-styled Penland in the Distinctions collection, with a T-cushion, bordered, with welted cushions with down blend, and rolled, welted arms; and Barco, a hip, funky and modern group with extremely wide track arms, bordered seat cushions and double banded front rail.

LANE

Stationary includes the Martin group (sofa $699), with chair and a half, matching chair and ottoman in a retro 1960s look that includes tailored button tufting cushion design. The sofa is 80 inches and takes Lane into another direction in contemporary. The Wynn sofa and sectional has a sloped track arm, and is available in fabric or leather. The Simon ($699) is a transitional three-over-three sofa group (with matching loveseat, chair and ottoman) with back stitching. All three intros are offered as part of Lane's Simple Solutions and Endure collections, and come with pocket coil seating.

LAZAR

New seating from Lazar includes a contemporary sectional from designer Rick Lee; its first upholstered bed and correlated chaise designed by Stanley J. Friedman; two new recliners in leather and fabric, a new category; and a lounge series pit group.

LA-Z-BOY

The Mya stationary group is casual contemporary with wood base and T-cushions, featuring the company's Premier construction. The Natalie stationary group has a flared roll arm and basic styling that the company said is perfect for any environment. Also on tap is the Chloe/Claiborne swivel glider chair offered with a skirt or banded base in a transitional design.

MASSOUD

This will be the first market under the design direction of new creative director Ronna Griest, and offerings include styles calling on clean, transitional design lines with a sense of simple elegance. Responding to positive feedback from its dealer base, Massoud will add a number of new fabric options to its Simple Choices program. The company offers expedited shipping and special pricing on a select group of fabrics.

MAYO

Mayo will change two-thirds of its showroom and beef up intros at moderate price points, as well as adding to its feather/down program. This market will see more sofas in the $999 to $1,099 price points.

NICHOLS & STONE

A new upholstery collection will include 69 new fabrics, five new leathers, a new sectional series, the new Roswell sofa, and opulent Comfort Down seating, which becomes standard in all Nichols & Stone upholstery. The company is featuring the Collins sectional with clean contemporary lines.

NORWALK

Norwalk's launch includes a new chair program, Bristol Variations, that will allow consumers to choose chair size (dining chair, bar stool or counter stool), seat style (fabric, leather or wood), back style (upholstered front panel and wood back, wood front and upholstered back, upholstered front and back, or all wood front and back). Other options include 20 wood finishes and 850 in-stock fabrics or leathers. Introductions also include new pieces by Candice Olson, a contemporary swivel chair and other Norwalk brand products.

PALLISER

The company is expanding its fabric program and introducing an accent chair program, along with a collection that offers four arm styles, all at the same price.

ROWE

The company will introduce three sofa groups in its new RXO (Rowe Extra Options) collection that offer design options that include nail head detailing, leg style and multiple cushion configurations with no up-charge. The groups include Varick, a tightback sofa with delicately flared tusk arm; Bleeker, a classic roll-arm with semi-attached back pillows; and Mitchell, a sleek and stylish sofa with a long, linear shelter arm and detached cushions. All are deliverable within 30 days.

SAFAVIEH

Safavieh follows the smaller space trend with a collection of 12 small-scale chairs packed with designer details from button tufts to authentic brass nail head trim.
The company will expand into several new categories this market, including accent tables made of exotic woods in the Bayur collection, accent tables of fallen branches and reclaimed wood in the Bits & Pieces collection, and a new collection of petite chairs for newer, smaller scaled homes. The company also has expanded its ottoman collection, added new benches and its first wicker collection.

SCHNADIG

Two collections will be introduced by Schnadig. The Empire II includes generous scale and elaborate carvings in cherry veneers, with the coordinating living room sporting the same cavings on the sofa, chair and chaise - all covered in a combination of neutral body fabrics accented with metallic, velvet and simulated silk fabrics. The Silhouette in cherry veneers features a poster bed and a tufted upholstery bed.

This brand will offer a track arm sectional in washed Joplin pumice, to retail at $1,700; the Marlow sofa, in washed taupe, $3,300; and the Marlow chair in a washed eggshell, $1,830.

Key trends
