AT THE MARKET - High end case goods and upholstery manufacturer Resource Decor has expanded its Las Vegas Market showroom by 2,000 square feet, creating additional space for product displays.

With the additional square footage, the space in C-401 is now 7,000 square feet. With the extra space, the company has an additional entrance thanks to the I-shaped design of the space. There are also expanded display areas for two top brands, Thomas Bina and Maison 55, a new gallery for Coup & Co. artwork and a newly designed bar where buyers can relax during their visit.

In addition to new product, the company is promoting the launch of its new AAT (Available Any Time) program, which offers some 542 SKUs out of its four warehouses. These pieces fall across each of the company's designer brands and are expected to be in stock at all times.

Its designer brands include Kelly Hoppen, Andrew Martin, Tracey Boyd and Thomas Bina. In-house brands include Nellcote Studios, Coup & Co. and Maison 55.

I'm Tom Russell and have worked at Furniture/Today since August 2003. Since then, I have covered the international side of the business from a logistics and sourcing standpoint. Since then, I also have visited several furniture trade shows and manufacturing plants in Asia, which has helped me gain perspective about the industry in that part of the world. As I continue covering the import side of the business, I look forward to building on that knowledge base through conversations with industry officials and future overseas plant tours. From time to time, I will file news and other industry perspectives online and, as always, welcome your response to these Web postings.
