Ethan Allen presents four Golden Kite Awards

DANBURY, Conn. — Three individuals and a retail family have won Ethan Allen's Golden Kite Award, the manufacturer and retailer's highest recognition.

This year's winners, honored at the company's international conference here last month, are Amy Franks, district design manager in Boston; Jeff Baker, manager of operations and logistics in Danbury; Mike Worth, regional operations manager in Orleans, Vt., and the Chesnick family, independent Ethan Allen retailers who operate six Ethan Allen Design Centers in Houston, Austin and San Antonio, Texas.

Established in 1997 and presented annually, the Golden Kite Award program recognizes "those who embody the highest standards of excellence" from Ethan Allen's network of more than 7,000 associates, according to the company.

Historically, the award has been given to one individual per year.

"With the theme of our conference focusing on the Power of People, it was only fitting that we took the time to honor a few exceptional associates who epitomize what our company stands for - pride, innovation and exceptional service," said Farooq Kathwari, chairman, president and CEO. "Running our business is like flying a kite. If you focus on doing what is right, success follows."

"We believe that the heart of the kite is made up of our people, and its tail represents our business success," he said. "The dedication of our associates, Amy, Jeff, Mike, and the entire Chesnick family, have earned them all the respect and loyalty of their many friends and colleagues at Ethan Allen and in the communities they serve."
