Mair chairs new HFIA board of directors

DALLAS - Verona Mair, owner of The Emporium in Ponca City, Okla., is succeeding Stephen H. Kidder as chairman of the board of the Home Furnishings Independents Assn., the retail trade association announced.
In addition to Mair, the board's executive committee includes Bob Bolton, Ashley Furniture HomeStores, Beaumont, Texas; Frank Brame, Carroll Furniture, Alexandria, La.; Karen Craig, manufacturer's representative, Houston; Randy Greengus, Sun Furniture City, Shreveport, La.; Stephen Kidder, Ashley Furniture HomeStores, Williston, Vt.; and David Lively, The Lively Merchant, Lancaster, Ohio.
Other members of the board include Melissa Bunker, Crazy J's Bed Shop, Wichita, Kan.; Amy Castleberry, Castleberry's Ethan Allen Home Interiors, Tulsa, Okla.; David Davis, Provencal Home, Austin, Texas; David Dodd, Dodd Home Furnishings, Guin, Ala.; Richard Glabman, Deere Park & Associates, Northbrook, Ill.; Glynn Irby, Irby's Home Furnishings, Clute, Texas; David Jacobs, Bedford Furniture Galleries, Bedford, Ind.; and Kerry Peavey, Garland Furniture, Garland, Texas.
