Oliver Hartley Hewit III, rep for 47 years

NORMANDY BEACH, N.J. - Oliver Hartley Hewit III, a longtime manufacturer's representative, has died at age 85.
Hewit was a rep for 47 years for several companies, including Daystrom Furniture, where he was the top salesman for several years. Before joining the furniture industry, Hewit served in the Navy and was stationed in the South Pacific on several ships and island bases.
Hewit was also an active church member and served on many community boards.
He is survived by his wife, five children, 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a sister.
