Lectra helps De Rucci step up digital

PARIS – Lectra, a leader in integrated technology solutions for industries using fabrics, leather, technical textiles and composite materials, will provide Chinese premium bedding brand De Rucci virtual prototyping and leather cutting solutions.

Lectra said DesignConcept, its 3D virtual prototyping tool, and Versalis, its leather cutting solution, can strengthen De Rucci’s mass customization capabilities and implement a flexible, digital manufacturing process.

De Rucci began investing in Industry 4.0-ready technology as a result of its focus on customization and enhancing the customer experience and its move toward a manufacturer-direct business model that connects the consumer directly to the manufacturer.

According to Lectra, DesignConcept will allow De Rucci to connect product development and production processes, gain greater control over costing and address feasibility or quality issues at the pre-production stage. Combined with Versalis’ capability of precision cutting of all types of leather with one of the highest uptimes on the market, De Rucci gains a flexible supply chain, material and time savings, and high quality product.
