Thomas Russell -- Furniture Today, December 13, 2011
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Ross Furniture Logistics, a freight forwarding company based in Boca Raton, Fla., has doubled the size of its warehouse and distribution facility here.
The company recently added about 50,000 square feet, bringing the total to just under 100,000 square feet, said Eyal Ross, president.
The company also has a 10,000-square-foot location in Charlotte, N.C., and a 32,000- square-foot facility in Baltimore, Ross said.
The Fort Lauderdale facility will primarily serve south Florida. It transports product directly to retailers and consumers.
The facility also has signed two new vendors, including leather upholstery resource Home Italia, and youth furniture manufacturer Berg Furniture.
Berg, which produces a line of laminate youth furniture made in the U.S. with high grade melamine, also ships out of facilities on New York's Long Island and in northern New Jersey to retailers and consumers in those markets.
Ross will ship Berg's products nationwide and will offer its white glove delivery services to consumers of Berg product in Florida.
"As we are expanding into the Florida market, it will be great to offer the home delivery service which we have offered in the New York metro area for 25 years," said Almog Lieber, Berg president.
In addition to space for warehouse and distribution, the Florida facility also has a 4,000-square-foot administrative office and a showroom for unclaimed goods, Ross said.
"We are very excited about our Florida expansion and welcome new retailers in the furniture industry who desire safe and secure storage and white glove delivery service," Ross said.
