Dwayne Welch, executive vice president of Hickory Springs, joined Furniture/Today Editor in Chief Ray Allegrezza on the stage in saluting the Retailer of the Year, Havertys of Atlanta, and the Supplier of the Year, Ashley Furniture.
Also addressing the conference was Mark Quinn, segment vice president of marketing at Leggett & Platt, who congratulated the four retailers featured on a panel titled, "Game-Changers: When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going."
Quinn said the retailers on that panel - Jake Jabs of American Furniture Warehouse, Englewood, Colo.; Pedro Capo of El Dorado Furniture, Miami Gardens, Fla.; Kim Yost of Art Van Furniture, Warren, Mich.; and Michael O'Hanlon of Wayfair, Boston - stand out because they take responsibility for their success and have found ways to succeed even in tough economic times.
