LEXINGTON, N.C. — Bob Timberlake Inc., the company that manages and oversees branding and product lines for the North Carolina artist and designer, has named longtime executive Jim Slagle as CEO.
Slagle joined the company in the mid-'90s and initially headed its apparel division. He later helped the company develop product and expand its licensing efforts to other product categories. He has been president for the past year.
The CEO role was most recently held by Bob Timberlake's son, Dan Timberlake, who remains on board as general counsel. He will primarily work with his father to promote his art.
The company also has named chief operating officer Malcolm Robertson as president. He will focus on the operational side of the business, including back office, Web and marketing initiatives.
Slagle takes over Dan Timberlake's role of overseeing the company's brand and retail divisions.
Pam Sink will continue to serve as president of the company's gallery program, managing retail staff and merchandising initiatives.
Dan Timberlake said the changes reflect the company's push to have non-family executives more involved in the business and also help create longevity for the brand.
"I wanted to get the brand under non-family supervision, management and control and have the brand live beyond the man," he said.
Robertson and Sink report to Slagle and Slagle reports to the company's board.
