Smalling
ATLANTA - Simmons has announced changes in its specialty sleep division designed to boost the company's position in that fast-growing category.
Brad Hill has been promoted to senior vice president and general manager of specialty products North America, and Scott Smalling, formerly president of specialty products, has been named to the new position of chief of specialty innovation. Both report to CEO Gary Fazio.
The company said the moves to expand the specialty sleep leadership team show its commitment to advancing its position in the category.
Hill began his career at Simmons in 2005 as senior vice president, supply chain, and was later promoted to senior vice president, sales operations and development. Most recently, he was in the Program Management Office for Simmons' parent company, AOT Bedding Super Holdings, LLC, where he was responsible for designing and implementing strategic initiatives that maximized efficiencies and drove significant cost savings for AOT Bedding, officials said.
In his new role, Hill will

Butch Webster, vice president of specialty sales, and Anne Kozel, brand director of specialty products, will report to Hill.
Simmons said Smalling will focus on the innovation and development of new foam specialty products. He also will continue to serve as a brand ambassador by dedicating a portion of his time to promotional efforts such as the ComforPedic Loft Road Show.
Smalling joined Simmons in 2007 as president of specialty sleep after Simmons acquired ComforProducts Inc., where Smalling was CEO. At ComforProducts, he created a line of foam bedding products that has evolved into today's ComforPedic brand.
