Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, December 28, 2011

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Chloe Furniture, a new chain started this year by Hudson's Furniture's CEO and a business partner, is closing four stores in North Carolina, The Fayetteville Observer reports.

The stores, owned by FreDe Enterprises, are in former Ashley Furniture HomeStores the Raleigh-Durham and eastern North Carolina markets. The Ashley stores also were previously operated by FreDe.

FreDe Enterprises filed for bankruptcy in 2010. It reopened the locations as multi-line stores this spring.

The principals in FreDe Enterprises are DeShon Hodge and Fred Hudson, CEO of the Sanford, Fla.-based Hudson's chain, which also filed for bankruptcy in 2010 and later emerged.
