Scott Mills joins King Koil as VP sales for eastern Canada

CALGARY, Alberta — King Koil Canada has named industry veteran Scott Mills vice president of sales for eastern Canada, a new position for the mattress specialist.

Although he has been out of the industry for past couple of years, Mills spent more than 15 years in sales and management positions in the industry, most notably with Cantrex, Springwall Sleep Products, Therapedic Toronto/Crown Design Upholstery and Simmons Canada.

"Scott's extensive knowledge with 15-plus years in the retail bedding industry, plus his sales and marketing expertise, will be a fresh start to lead expansion of King Koil's presence and profile in Ontario and the Maritime Provinces," King Koil Canada President Alykhan Sunderji said in a statement.

Mills, who reports to Sunderji, will be based at King Koil's factory in Toronto and will lead the company's team of territory representatives. His focus will be on supporting the sales team and improving the strategic distribution of the King Koil brand within Eastern Canada, the company said. He will be responsible for relationships with the buying groups and key regional independent retailers.

Mills succeeds Paul DeGeer in a somewhat expanded role. DeGeer left King Koil and now is sales director for Ontario and the Maritimes by Spring Air Sommex Corporation this past August.
