IB ceases operations
Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 2, 2012
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Top 10 bedding producer International Bedding has ceased operations and the fate of the company is uncertain, sources have told Furniture/Today.
Officials of the company, based here, have not responded to requests for information on the company's status.
The debt-strapped producer said on Oct. 21 that the company was for sale and that it would cease operations in about 60 days if a sale or an alternative financing solution was not found. IB made those statements in letters it filed as part of its obligations under the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.
Sources told Furniture/Today that IB was ceasing operations and was notifying workers.
Furniture/Today attempted to contact IB officials and received no response.
