Shifman Mattress honors 3 top dealers

NEWARK, N.J. – Shifman Mattress recently honored three of its top dealers for strong sales performances.

Rhode Island-based McKay’s Furniture was presented with a Platinum Achievement Award, while Pennsylvania-based Benjamin T. Moyer won the Gold Achievement Award, and Maryland-based Gladhill Furniture received the Silver Achievement Award.

Bill Hammer, Shifman’s president, visited each of the winning retailers to personally thank them for their continuing support.

“Shifman is proud to have these retailers as a partner and looks forward to helping them continue to grow their mattress business,” he said. “The strength of the ‘Shifman Difference’ and the support of its dealers is a winning combination for all parties involved. I would like to thank each and every Shifman dealer for being a part of the Shifman brand and story.”

McKay’s Furniture has been a Rhode Island and Southeast New England quality furniture leader for almost 120 years and a Shifman dealer for more than 20 years, officials said.

“We have dealt with multiple bedding lines throughout the years and sold thousands of pieces of bedding,” noted Kerry McKay, who is a 3rd generation owner of McKay’s. “Never before have we had the pleasure of dealing with a firm so committed to the quality of their products as the Shifman Mattress Company. This allows McKay’s Furniture to provide our valued customers one of the finest bedding products in the world. McKay’s continues to grow and prosper with Shifman Mattress and look forward to continuing the outstanding partnership that we have developed.”

Benjamin T. Moyer, located in Sunbury, Pa., has offered quality home furnishings since 1935 and has been a Shifman dealer for 82 years, the company said.

“I can think of no other manufacturer that works with their dealers like Shifman Mattress,” said owner Dave Moyer. “Shifman is the only manufacturer that we work with that sits down with us multiple times per year and analyzes our business and provides quality feedback on advertising, product mix and stock levels. They are very hands-on and that is appreciated .”

He added that Shifman has the highest GMROI and sales per square foot of any vendor in the store.

Gladhill Furniture, a family-owned business in the heart of Middletown, Md., has been a Shifman partner for more than five years and has been in business for a century, the company said.

Hammer said Shifman selected these retailers based on the volume they did with the company.
