PHILADELPHIA — World Imports raised and matched contributions totaling $13,000 at the October High Point Market for the High Point-area affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, according to the company.
Contributions were collected during market in World Imports' showroom, where the company also offered giveaways including a new Harley Davidson motorcycle, pink furniture, pink stuffed polar bears, bracelets and pins.
The showroom entrance featured a pink wall designed by Dawn Thompson. Customers were invited to sign the wall alongside World Imports' sales team and two of the company's employees - Jodi Krawitz and Vicki Little - who are breast cancer survivors. The Komen foundation's mission is to fight breast cancer.
"We are very proud to be a part of such a great cause, and to have the support of our customers in this effort was phenomenal," said Marc Luber, World Imports president.
