Kittle's expands, renovates Greenwood, Ind., showroom

GREENWOOD, Ind. — Kittle’s Home Furnishings has completed its second major store renovation project this year, updating the look of its store here and expanding the showroom space in the process.

As in Bloomington, Ind., earlier this year, the Top 100 company unveiled new exterior and interior looks. Enhancements inside include an expanded Bassett gallery and the additional of Bassett’s new motion program; a Stressless gallery; an expanded Mattress Maxx Sleep shop; and a new Relax The Back Gallery of ergonomic furniture and massage chairs.

Kittle’s also expanded its presentation from Smith Brothers of Berne, noting that since exiting Ohio last year, it has focused on its Indiana roots and done very well with the Indiana upholstery producer.

Other new features include a smaller, state of the art business office and a popular café area with complimentary coffee and snack bar.

Along with the renovation work, Kittles increased the showroom footprint 10% to 51,000 square feet.

“This Greenwood store was the second major real estate project my father and I undertook almost 40 years ago,” Kittle’s Chairman Jim Kittle recalled. “I maintained an office here for years, and it is truly gratifying to see it looking so spectacular today.”

Kittle’s President and CEO Eric Easter said tackling both the Greenwood store and the Bloomington, Ind., project (completed in May) “was a major undertaking for our team, but the efforts were well worth it; the transformations are like night to day.

“We offer our customers a better, differentiating experience from front to back. These stores perfectly reflect who we are and customers have embraced the changes as both stores have seen strong sales increases — no small accomplishment especially in the current economy.”

Kittle’s operates eight Indiana stores.
