Horowitz joins World Imports as sales executive

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — Paul Horowitz, longtime executive director of Fash-N-Home Furniture Distributors buying group here, left to join Philadelphia-based distributor World Imports as vice president of sales Northeast.
Horowitz covers 11 states from Maine to Maryland and has 10 representatives reporting to him.
He led Fash-N-Home for 14 years and was a retail member of the group for more than 44 years. The group, founded in 1964 and now with 27 members operating more than 40 stores in the tri-state area, has named Brad Sobel its new executive director.
Sobel has extensive industry experience, most recently as President and chief operating officer of the former Merit Furniture Distributors in Brooklyn, N.Y.
"Paul has devoted a huge portion of his professional life to our organization, and we have benefited greatly," the group's board members said in a letter to Furniture/Today.
"Please join us in wishing Paul the greatest success in his future endeavors and welcoming Brad to our organization."
