Singapore subsidizes furniture manufacturers
Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 2, 2012
SINGAPORE — The Singapore Furniture Industries Council, the representative body of the furniture manufacturing industry here, is lending a hand to its members by granting $1 million in subsidies to help as the economy slows.
Over 280 members will be eligible for subsidies of $2,500 to $4,000, and 40% of all eligible members stand to receive the maximum amount.
The amount each member receives is based on the tenure of membership and can be used to offset the cost of training programs and seminars offered by the SFIC Institute, a subsidiary of the furniture council.
