Jesse A. Brinkley, longtime industry executive

Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 30, 2012

CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla. - Jesse A. Brinkley, whose long career in home furnishings included the presidency of youth specialist Lea Inds., has died after a long fight with pancreatic cancer. He was 70.
Brinkley began his career as a sales representative for several manufacturers including Stanley, Keller, Globe Furniture and Burlington. He was president of Lea for four years beginning in 1997 before moving on to executive positions with importers Prime Resources International and HomElegance. He continued as an industry consultant during his illness.
Brinkley's family said he enjoyed the travel he got to do through his work and he prided himself on moving forward through all of the changes in the home furnishings industry.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, a son and two grandsons.
