DALLAS — Two one-of-a-kind Beni Ourain Moroccan-style shag rugs from Feizy Rugs will be featured in the Greenroom at the Academy Awards, held Feb. 26.
"We're honored to be a part of such an iconic event," said John Feizy, the company's founder and CEO. "It's hard to believe that in the space of just under 40 years, our company has gone from a local designer resource to an international supplier of the finest, most desired rugs in the world."
Designed by Waldo Fernandez and produced by Architectural Digest, the Greenroom is the backstage lounge for Oscar presenters and honorees. This year's Greenroom is inspired by Hollywood of the 1930s and '40s.
Fernandez, an interior designer, is known for the same sort of relaxed styling and unique patterns found in the two Feizy shags.
"I referenced in my design the director George Cukor's house," he said, adding, "I love the layers in his home and how his accessories, carpets and art helped finish the room and all his interior spaces. These are the elements that truly make a room distinct."
This is the 10th consecutive year that Architectural Digest will produce the Greenroom at the Academy Awards. The magazine will feature photos and video of the room on its website on Feb. 27.
