Wednesday, 26 April -Made in America Grows at High Point Market
Furniture Today's Ray Allegrezza talks to Karen Olsen, vice president of marketing at International Market Centers, about the growth of the Made in America Pavilion at the High Point Market. The section has more than doubled in size from its debut at the fall 2011 market. She attributed the increase to buyers, both domestic and international, seeking more American made merchandise due to the associated prestige and quality.

 

Wednesday, 25 April -Martha Stewart debuts furniture line at Miles Talbott

Furniture Today's Ray Allegrezza talks to Martha Stewart, who unveiled her new Martha Stewart Fine Furniture collection in the Miles Talbott showroom at the spring 2012 High Point Market. With the upholstery made by Miles Talbott and case goods imported from Colombia by Lefa, the new collection includes 25 upholstery and 55 bedroom, dining and occasional pieces.

 

Tuesday, 24 April - Alexander Julian launches line with Modern Traditions
Furniture Today's Ray Allegrezza talks to designer Alexander Julian at the High Point Market about his launch of a new upholstery line with Modern Traditions Furniture. Debuting under the Alexander Julian Couture line, the products are aimed at decorators and top-end stores. The eco-friendly line is also manufactured domestically using sustainably harvested solid North Carolina grown hardwood frames.

 

Monday, 23 April - See Ashley Press Conference Concerning New N.C. Plant
See press conference as Ashley Furniture announces plans for new furniture manufacturing and distribution facility near Advance, N.C. Dale Carroll, deputy secretary of commerce for N.C., welcomes the company to the state, while Ashley's Ron and Todd Wanek discuss their decision to locate here.

 

Sunday, 22 April - Ashley discusses new N.C. manufacturing facility
Furniture Today's Ray Allegrezza talks to Ashley Furniture's Ron and Todd Wanek about Ashley's plans to open a furniture manufacturing and distribution facility near Advance, N.C. The 640-acre site eventually will encompass more than 3 million square feet and employ 550 people within five years. Initially, the site will serve as a distribution center, but later plans call for both upholstery and case goods to be produced there.
