Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, April 9, 2012
LYNNWOOD, Wash. - Mor Furniture for Less has opened its 24th store in this northern suburb of Seattle on Alderwood Mall Boulevard.
The San Diego-based chain did not disclose projected sales of the 20,000-square-foot Lynnwood store in its press release. Furniture/Today estimates the retailer did an estimated $238.4 million in 2011, ending the year with 21 stores.
In 2005, the Top 100 company's other Seattle-area furniture stores were consolidated into one 100,000-square-foot furniture showroom with a warehouse the same size in Kent, Wash., a location that remains Mor's largest in all seven Western states in which the retailer operates.
Mor said the new store, "will better service residents throughout the northern Seattle market. It will be serviced by the Kent warehouse, offering same-day delivery and pick-up options.
"The furniture shopping experience will be like at all other Mor Furniture for Less stores, with free fresh-baked cookies, popcorn, soda and coffee," the company said in the release. "Family movies are shown on the TVs throughout the store for kids to enjoy while Mom and Dad shop."
