PLANO, Texas - Rent-to-own franchisor ColorTyme has hired industry veteran Fred Mattox as vice president and chief operating officer.
Mattox, with more than 30 years of RTO experience, will work with franchisees and individual stores to maximize their operating efficiency, the company said in a release.
"To have the opportunity to bring someone in like Fred who has both the experience in the industry and the knowledge of what it takes to be successful in the operations side of the business is very exciting for us," Color-Tyme CEO Cathy Skula said, adding that having Mattox "will greatly benefit" the company's growth plans.
In the vice president portion of his role, he succeeds Andrew Kohut, who left the company earlier this year.
Mattox began his career as a customer account representative for Lone Star TV Rental. He joined ColorTyme's parent company, Rent-A-Center, in 1995, starting as a district manager and then working up to regional director and then divisional vice president.
ColorTyme franchisees operate 195 rent-to-own stores in 33 states, and the company's custom-wheels and-tires franchise brand, RimTyme, operates 22 stores in 10 states.
