WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Nationwide Marketing Group has hired Tom Hickman as senior vice president of consumer electronics.
Hickman will be responsible for developing a marketing campaign for HDTV, tablet and other computer products to increase Gen X and Gen Y traffic, the buying group said.
Hickman has worked with Nationwide as a vendor-partner for years, according to Robert Weisner, Nationwide president and CEO. Hickman also has worked for retailer BrandsMart and for Toshiba in account director positions.
ANDERSON, S.C. - Orian Rugs has hired Paul Crump as vice president of sales for its Southeast region and Mike Donovan as vice president of sales for the Midwest.
Both report to Brandon Culpepper, vice president of sales and new business development.
Crump has more than 13 years of sales experience in the floor covering industry, having previously worked for Kas Rugs.
Prior to joining Orian Rugs, Donovan worked in the rug industry for Shaw and also in sales in the software industry.
LOS ANGELES - Josef Wieser has been named to the new position of vice president of sales for upholstery maker Outer Limits.
The company said Wieser will focus on expanding existing sales and exposure of the company's products in the design, hospitality and contract areas that have been a major part of Outer Limits' expansion from residential upholstery.
Wieser also will continue to represent other companies as a manufacturer's rep.
BOCA RATON, FLA. - Industry veteran Bobby Garland has joined contemporary furniture retailer Sklar Furnishings in the new position of director of sales and design.
Garland, who reports Rick and Pat Howard, owners of Sklar, previously was district sales and general manager of retailer Carl's Furniture. Prior to that he was senior vice president at Whelan's Furniture in Savannah, Ga., and worked for two decades at the former Rose Furniture in High Point.
"Sklar is the perfect fit for me to maximize the culmination of all of my experience and education for us to grow together by representing some of the best manufacturers around the world with one of the most talented design staffs to provide our customers with an outstanding experience," Garland said in a press release.
Sklar is a member of the Contemporary Design Group and carries manufacturers including American Leather, Thayer Coggin, Kartel, Malebra, Tonelli, Seco, Jesse, Bontempi, Brown Jordan and DellaRobia.
ATLANTA - Pure LatexBliss has appointed bedding veteran E.B. Walthall to develop sales for the company's expanding Eastern division.
"E.B. brings extensive industry experience and understanding, as well as sales management and relationships that will lead our brand's growth at a retail level," said Joe Hunt, co-founder and executive vice president of sales for Pure LatexBliss.
Walthall has decades of production and sales management experience in the mattress industry, most recently as vice president of sales at International Bedding Corp. for seven years, overseeing the company's largest region. Earlier, he worked as a sales representative and production manager at Simmons.
DALLAS - Feizy Rugs has named Brian Hall and Kent Wilkins regional sales managers for its Southeastern and Western territories, respectively.
Both report to Dale Sweary, vice president of sales.
Hall, a 25-year veteran of the home furnishings industry, most recently worked in management for Sanford, Fla.-based retailer Rooms To Go. He has also held sales and sales management positions with Shaw Living.
Wilkins most recently worked with Beaulieu of America. Prior to joining Beaulieu in 2007, he owned and operated his own business for more than 20 years, in which he was responsible for key accounts throughout the Southwest.
DALLAS - Loloi Rugs has hired Joan Catello as a key account executive.
Catello, who is based in Pittsburgh, will report to Amir Loloi, founder and president.
She most recently was vice president of sales at JLA. Catello also has worked as v ice president of national accounts at Surya, and held key accounts and sales positions at Oriental Weavers and Kas.
"Joan's extensive key account sales experience is going to be a tremendous asset for Loloi Rugs moving forward," Loloi said. "We're pleased to add her to a growing segment of our business."
Jane Hamley Wells
CHICAGO - Jane Hamley Wells, an indoor/outdoor classic modern furniture source, has hired Petra Michael as national contract-hospitality sales manager.
She will be responsible for national contract and hospitality sales, said company President Jane Humzy. Michael will report to Humzy.
Michael was the founder and CEO of Sky Blue, a performance textile company, and brings a thorough understanding of textile design, protective performance and fashion design to her new post, according to a release. She is also a published expert on protective bedding.
PAWTUCKET, R.I. - Colonial Mills, a manufacturer of braided area rugs and accessories, has named Kirsten Haynes national accounts manager.
Previously, Haynes worked as a Kentucky and southern Ohio territory manager with both Rizzy Home and CMI. Last summer, she started targeting key potential accounts for CMI.
"She is an excellent communicator and understands the needs of her customers," said Don Scarlata, president and CEO. "Her enthusiasm and sales knowledge is just what CMI needs to increase sales with these specialty key accounts."
