Culture + Commerce to represent materials creator Romanoff

Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, June 12, 2012

CHICAGO — Surfacing materials creator Maya Romanoff will be represented by design management agency Culture + Commerce.

"We are really delighted to represent Maya Romanoff," Michele Caniato, president of Culture + Commerce, said in a press release. "For decades, savvy interior designers have made Maya Romanoff their destination when looking for innovative wall coverings."

Based in New York, Culture + Commerce is a strategic design consultancy that develops design opportunities for global brands and international designers by helping launch products and offering services to differentiate brands. Culture + Commerce also focuses on marketing and communication services for clients.

It is owned by Furniture/Today parent Sandow Media.

Culture + Commerce will help develop Romanoff's products for all aspects of the home, including tabletop and accessory categories.

The firm is seeking partners for Romanoff across categories to create a curated assortment of lifestyle products.

Romanoff says it creates unique surfacing using uncommon materials. They are used by architects, designers and artists. Uses include foundational elements for flooring.

Culture + Commerce also represents designers including Dror Benshetrit, Yves Behar, Milton Glaser, Sami Hayek and Piero Lissoni among others. It has helped develop projects in consumer products for housewares, furniture and hospitality companies such as Microsoft, Puma, Target, MA and Rosenthal.
