Dormeo Octaspring to show hybrid mattress line at Las Vegas Market

David Perry -- Furniture Today, June 22, 2012

DALLAS — Bedding producer Dormeo Octaspring is taking a permanent space at the Las Vegas Market this summer as it rolls its hybrid product line out in the United States.

The company, whose U.S. operations are based in Dallas, is showing in World Market Center B-922. The market runs July 30-Aug. 3.

The European mattress brand says it offers a new "third category" of mattress to the industry: Mattresses constructed around patented memory foam springs.

"We are accelerating our plans right now, due to an overwhelming initial response to the Octaspring product," said bedding veteran Chris Henning, Octaspring's president for North America. "In order to streamline our efforts to introduce the product to the larger U.S. and North American dealer base, we have decided to take a permanent space at the Las Vegas Market."

He said the company will back its U.S. launch with a TV advertising push.

"We are excited to be exhibiting our new technology and launching our state of the art advertising program in a space commensurate with the offering," Henning said. "We will be in Building B in Las Vegas, situated among other mattress manufacturers in a location that's well suited to the requirement of the buyers and decision makers that are in attendance. We're very excited indeed about the way things are progressing."

Added Kym Bramm, CEO of Dormeo's worldwide operations: "As well as the key personnel appointments we have made recently and new offices we have opened in both Dallas and Los Angeles, taking this permanent position will give us a solid industry base in North America. With the multimillion-dollar TV advertising and multi-channel spend we have already committed to in taking our North American launch to the next level, this key location will become an invaluable place for the industry to sample our revolutionary new mattress technology."

Dormeo Octaspring says its beds offer a breakthrough in mattress design. The individual memory foam springs work together to form the core of the Octaspring mattress. The breathable honeycomb structures work in harmony to create cradling support for the body, with a constant cooling airflow spread throughout, the company says.

Octaspring is a patented technology manufactured in Belgium.
