Thursday - 02 August 2012 - Furniture Today's Ray Allegrezza talks to Nick Gates of Gates Furniture and Alex Macias of Del Sol Furniture at the Las Vegas Market about Next Generation-NOW, which is a development group for young furniture professionals. The group includes young retailers, vendors and manufacturers, and hosts forums and professional development events to provide guidance and networking opportunities to up-and-coming members of the furnishings industry. Initially founded to help the children of family furniture stores make the transition into leadership positions, the group is now also focused on helping develop new leaders in the industry.

Wednesday, 01 August 2012 -Furniture Today's Ray Allegrezza talks to Karel Czanderna, newly-named President and Chief Executive of Flexsteel Inds., about her impressions of the furniture industry so far as well as what her time at brands like Owens Corning, Jenn-Air and KitchenAid have taught her. She explained that she has been impressed by how this industry tries hard to serve their customers and meet their needs.

 

Tuesday, 31 July 2012 - Furniture Today's Ray Allegrezza talks style and design trends with HGTV's Monica Pedersen during the Las Vegas Market. So far, at this market, she is seeing a lot of bold colors and animal-themed accessories. However, she added, for the most part, it's "anything goes" with lots of wide ranging collections. Monica also discussed her new book "Monica Pedersen Make It Beautiful: Designs and Ideas for Entertaining at Home."
