Gibhardt served as creative director of Hickory White from 1999-2010 and most recently had his own independent showroom design and installation company that served various furniture manufacturers.

Gibhardt joined the company June 1 and reports to Thomas Woller, president of Theodore Alexander upholstery.

He will be responsible for fabric merchandising and upholstery showroom display for the company's Theodore Alexander, Althorp Living History and Kenos Bros. collections as well as the company's latest acquisition of upper end upholstery manufacturer TRS, which it announced earlier this month.

He also will oversee the installation of the company's new 11,000-square-foot upholstery showroom at 229 W. Russell St. in High Point.

In a statement, Woller said he was pleased Gibhardt has joined the company.

"Bill's knowledge of the furniture business and his unique ability to use color and texture in imaginative ways are sure to appeal to a broad range of both our domestic and global customers," Woller said. "We are extremely pleased to have him as an integral part of our new luxury upholstery division."
