Costco to sell high-end upholstery, case goods line
Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, August 9, 2012
ISSAQUAH, Wash. — Wholesale warehouse membership club Costco is launching an upper-end line of upholstery and case goods at short-term sale events in four California stores and one in Scottsdale, Ariz.
A Los Angeles Times story noted that some of the pieces from Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Jennifer Adams Home are "priced at upwards of $4,000." It said the collection will include 83 pieces, including sofas, hardwood headboards and dining room furniture.
According to the Jennifer Adams website, the sales will run at each store for 10 days, staring in Yorba Linda, Calif., Aug. 17, then moving to stores in Huntington, Beach and Carlsbad, Calif., in September and Torrance, Calif., and Scottsdale in October.
The Times story also noted that the furniture, made in Southern California, will roll out to Costco stores nationally by the end of the year, according to the Jennifer Adams website.
Representatives of Costco and Jennifer Adams could not be reached immediately for comment.
Furniture/Today estimates Costco did about $1.23 billion in furniture and bedding sales this past year at some 433 Costco warehouses in the United States Puerto Rico.
