Najarian Furniture adding 7,000 square feet to High Point showroom

Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, September 5, 2012

HIGH POINT — Case goods importer Najarian Furniture is expanding its presence here with a 7,000-square-foot expansion of its 220 Elm showroom.

Najarian Furniture, High Point Furniture Market, FurnitureThis dining room set is part of Najarian’s Art Deco-influenced Manhattan collection. At the October High Point Market, the company will add new pieces to the collection.

The expansion will add a third floor to the space for a total of 30,500 square feet. This expansion, officials said, will allow it to showcase additional new product and will offer more space for the Najarian Kids line it launched in April.

The first floor will showcase Najarian Kids, while the other two floors will show both bedroom and dining room furniture.

"The expansion of our showroom space enables us to offer a greater assortment of product," said Michael Lawrence, vice president of sales and marketing. "In fact, this is the biggest product introduction we've ever had - we're showing twice the amount of new goods than in previous markets."

Lawrence added that the 220 Elm building's focus on transitional and contemporary wood furniture and upholstery specialists has been "the perfect spot for Najarian. It's a good fit for our line, and it attracts the types of top retailers we're trying to reach."

This October, the company will launch six bedrooms and seven dining rooms in transitional and contemporary styles. It also is adding four new bedrooms, which include a sports-themed group for boys licensed by Major League Baseball. The other three will cover the three licensed lines Najarian launched in April including Hello Kitty, Paul Frank and Barbie.

The company will host a grand opening party in the expanded showroom on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 13. It will feature a Greek band as well as drinks and hors d'oeuvres.
