Lorts launching quick-ship program
Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, September 3, 2012
GOODYEAR, Ariz. - Case goods manufacturer Lorts Mfg. has announced a quick ship program that includes some of its most popular dining room and occasional pieces.
The program includes 44 items ranging from dining tables and buffet/sideboard units to dining chairs, barstools and occasional tables. It also covers three upholstered items - two benches and a banquette. These represent about 10% of the company's total product offering, and are highly customizable with hundreds of options, said Ty Lorts, president.
Lorts said it will ship the items in four weeks from the time it receives all necessary components of the order, including finish and COM options and deposits. Items not in the program will ship in the normal eight week time frame, the company said.
"We introduced it to bring some structure to some things we were capable of doing already," Lorts said, noting that the products in the program are mostly produced domestically, but also include some imported whitewood frames and case pieces. "There is a customer who will not wait eight weeks for customized furniture. We wanted to give the designer or retail salesperson the opportunity to serve that customer."
Lorts has posted a list of the items included in the program at http://www.lorts.com/html/quick_ship.html.
