ABC to offer Trump Home flooring, paneling, furniture line

Clint Engel -- Furniture Today, September 13, 2012

NEW YORK — ABC Carpet & Home here has partnered with The Trump Organization and Archetypal Imagery for a new collection of high-end flooring, paneling and custom wood furniture under the Trump Home brand.

The designer collection, debuting in October and exclusive to the four-store ABC, will feature oversized planks, intricate mosaics, exotic and reclaimed woods, and gold and silver leafing, according to a release. Design consultations and installation will be available.

The new products are produced by New York-based Archetypal Imagery and will be part of the Trump Home collection, which includes lighting, mattresses, decorative mirrors, bath textiles and accessories, crystal stemware, barware and giftware.

The product is unrelated to the former Trump Home furniture line launched by Lexington Home Brands in 2007. Lexington chose not to renew its license agreement with Trump last year and all of its Trump designs have been discontinued, the company said.

Cathy Hoffman Glosser, executive vice president of global licensing for Trump, said in the release that the custom wood collection at ABC "is a natural extension of the Trump Home brand given Donald Trump's experience and extensive expertise in luxury property development. Archetypal Imagery has unsurpassed experience in design, construction and installation and ABC Carpet & Home is the perfect showcase for our custom luxury wood collection."

Paul Chapman, ABC's vice chairman and president, said the new products exhibit "the superlative quality, beauty, and attention to detail associated with the Trump brand," adding that it's all made in America at ABC's outlet store location in the Bronx.

ABC has dedicated about 2,100 square feet to the collection in its main showroom in Manhattan and 10,000 square feet in the Bronx, Chapman said. It's also expected to come to ABC's South Hackensack, N.J., showroom.
