KENT, Wash. — Thousands of Northwest foster children went back to school equipped for success this year, thanks to Sleep Country USA.
The Kent-based mattress retailer collected 50,309 items in its annual School Supply Drive for Foster Kids this year. School supplies were donated at all Sleep Country locations in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho from July 30 to Sept. 9 and donations were distributed among 18 foster care nonprofit partners.
Sleep Country hosts six annual donation drives throughout the year, collecting basic material items for Northwest foster children as part of the Sleep Country Foster Kids Program. It is now collecting new, water-resistant warm coats through Nov. 4, and beginning Nov. 5 will start accepting toys and gifts for the holidays.
