Mattress USA acquires home furnishings retailer Carolina Rustica

BRIGHTON, Mich. — Mattress USA, the operator of national mattress and furniture e-commerce websites US-Mattress.com and FurnitureCrate.com, has acquired specialty furniture and lighting retailer Carolina Rustica, according to a report in Internet Retailer.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The transaction closed earlier this month.
The report said the combined entities will continue under the Mattress USA organization and will operate three brick-and-mortar retail stores, two in Michigan as US-Mattress.com, and one in North Carolina under the Carolina Rustica name, along with the e-commerce site CarolinaRustica.com.
Carolina Rustica, based in Concord, N.C., is on Furniture/Today's list of Beyond the Top 100 retailers.
