PHILADELPHIA — World Imports Ltd., a full-line importer of mid-priced furniture, has promoted Dirk Springmann to vice president of sales, a newly created position.
Springmann will assume leadership of the company's sales in the United States and Canada, reporting to Marc Luber, World Imports president and CEO.
Springmann joined World Imports as vice president of sales for Canada in 2011 after the company's acquisition of Canadian importer Hamilton Spill. He has 20 years of experience in the furniture industry, including 11 years in senior management roles with retailer United Furniture Warehouse.
"Dirk has an excellent understanding of the retailer and what helps them to be successful," Luber said in a statement. "This is the philosophy our company was founded on 26 years ago and continues to be our primary focus today."
World Imports has warehouses in Philadelphia, Chicago, Memphis, Tenn., and Dayton, N.J.
