Mega Group USA adds mobile features to WebFronts program

Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, November 13, 2012

GERMANTOWN, Tenn. — Mega Group USA buying group has added mobile features to its basic and premium Mega WebFronts websites program.

Every retailer member of the buying group gets a basic WebFronts website covered by Mega for one year, which provides a starting Web presence and now includes a mobile-specific site with no additional work or cost, Mega USA said in a release.

"Customers accessing the site from a mobile device are taken to the mobile-specific version that is designed to load fast and make it easy to get directions or call the store," the release said.

Members that upgraded to the more robust Premium Plus Mega WebFronts program received mobile-specific sites earlier this year at no added cost. The site features the thousands of products on the regular WebFronts pages, updates automatically, and both the traditional and mobile sites are seamlessly linked.

Mega said nearly 86 million consumers use mobile devices to research their purchases and said the buying group's new mobile tools provide members the best technology to compete.

"New technology trends, like mobile shopping, are one area our members need help with," said Rick Bellows, president of Mega Group USA. "We are dedicated to providing members the best programs and tools that are easy to utilize and succeed with."

Mega added that its new Mega RetailDeck app goes a step further, helping retailers improve efficiency and the in-store customer experience. The app works on all Internet-enabled devices and is specially optimized for tablet use. Staff members can access full product information, pricing guides, rebates and more for over 400,000 items from anywhere in the store, on the road, or in customers' homes.

The program also enables retailers to make price tags that contain automated QR codes so sales staff or customers can scan the codes with their mobile devices to pull up more information.
