Conn's opens first New Mexico store in Albuquerque

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — Specialty retailer Conn's Inc. has opened a new store in Albuquerque, N.M., the company's first store in that state.
The new store has approximately 50 employees, and features furniture, bedding, consumer electronics, appliances and computers.
Conn's has placed greater emphasis on furniture and bedding in recent months, and the retailer recently reported that furniture and bedding sales totaled $32.7 million in the quarter ended Oct. 31 - a 31.7% increase from the same quarter last year.
Furniture and bedding made up about 19% of Conn's total sales in the quarter.
Including the newest location, Conn's has 66 stores in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and New Mexico.
