Art Van's Black Friday promotions include Fiat giveaways

Art Van’s website conveys a time-sensitive message that encourages shoppers to beat the crowds and take advantage of deep discounts during Black Friday. The retailer is also giving customers a chance to win a new Fiat.

WARREN, Mich. — Art Van plans big Black Friday bargains and giveaways, including giving shoppers the chance to win one of 34 new Fiat cars.

Fiat might be an Italian brand, but the company has a big Michigan connection because it's the majority owner of Chrysler.

From 6 a.m. to noon Friday, shoppers at each Art Van store will have a chance to win one of the new Fiats. In addition, shoppers spending more than $2,499 on furniture or mattresses will get a $400 Apple gift card, and with every purchase over $799, shoppers will receive a free Apple TV.

Coupons and early access to gifts and discounts will be available on Art Van Furniture's Facebook and Twitter pages on Black Friday.

The retailer also noted that its online site, artvan.com, will be open for business on Thanksgiving and will offer discounts. The retailer also plans to offer online deals on Cyber Monday, Nov. 26.

In Columbus, Ohio, meanwhile, retailer American Signature Furniture says it will open its American Signature and Value City stores at 6 a.m. Friday, offering "unprecedented Black Friday discounts, promotions and giveaways."

The stores also promise 60-month financing for those who qualify, along with Black Friday deals and free food.
