WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — High-end decorative furniture resource Christopher Guy has received the John Chase Art & Design award at the 29th annual Creative City Awards 2012 presented by the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
The event was held Nov. 14 at the London West Hollywood Hotel in West Hollywood.
The award is named for John Chase, a writer and urban designer for the city of West Hollywood, who is known for his role in the reconstruction of the West Hollywood segment of Santa Monica Boulevard. The award is presented to businesses or individuals that have shown creativity and innovation in the world of art, performance art, fashion, design, architecture or any other realm of creative arts.
The award coincides with the July 2012 opening of Christopher Guy's 10,000-square-foot flagship showroom at 8900 Beverly Blvd. in West Hollywood. It displays furnishings that reflect the essence of Los Angeles' "famed lifestyle" and has hosted a number of events in the West Hollywood community.
The events have included a reception for Emmy-nominated art and set directors and two charity events including one that benefited the victims of Hurricane Sandy and another that supported the non-profit organization Heart of Los Angeles.
