Coyuchi launches 2 bed collections

A bed made with sustainable oak solids in a natural oak finish is one of two new models by bedding resource Coyuchi.POINT REYES STATION, Calif. - Organic bedding resource Coyuchi is expanding into bedroom furniture with two panel beds that it says reflect its eco-friendly business model.
     The Barnwood bed frame and headboard is made of Douglas fir timbers reclaimed from old barns and factories in northern California. The Weathered Oak bed frame and headboard are made with thick oak planks harvested from sustainable resources, the company said.
     Both are panel beds with clean contemporary lines and feature lightly distressed wood tone finishes. The company said they will be produced in California.
     Barnwood is targeted to retail from $4,800 to $5,500 for a complete bed and the Weathered Oak bed is targeted to retail from $4,700 to $5,400.
     The beds also are offered as headboard only options, retailing from $1,909 to $2,199 for the Barnwood and from $1,789 to $2,079 for the Weathered Oak.
     Coyuchi was founded 20 years ago and calls itself the first company to bring organic cotton bedding to the U.S. It says its bedding is made with natural fibers that are free of dies, bleaches and finishes used in conventional textiles.
     The company said the new beds are available on the company's website at www.coyuchi.com and will be in stores in Canada and the United States by the end of the year. The beds will be delivered to customers in four to six weeks of the time of order, officials said.
