NBA's ‘Sleepy' Floyd to promote bedding producer Comfort Revolution

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. — Former NBA star Eric "Sleepy" Floyd has a new promotional gig that will make good use of his nickname.

Floyd, who played for four NBA teams in his 13-year career, is the new spokesman for high-end mattress and pillow producer Comfort Revolution.

The company said Floyd will represent the brand in key promotions next year that are aimed at building awareness of the importance of a good night's sleep among professional athletes, youth groups, businesses and other organizations.

"We respect all that Eric has accomplished on and off the court and believe he will be a great match for a company whose hallmark is innovation," said Michael Fux, founder and CEO of the company. "Besides, who better to talk about the value of a good night's sleep that someone whose nickname is Sleepy?"

Floyd acquired the nickname as an 8-year-old baseball player when he allowed a ground ball to roll between his legs while he was playing second base.

"I learned in the NBA you can't perform at your best if you're not sleeping well," Floyd said. "I've been very impressed with Comfort Revolution products because they're unlike anything else on the market. I'm excited to be working with a company that can make a real difference in people's lives."
